EY has appointed Mark Le Page as an Advisory Director based in their Guernsey office, further strengthening their advisory service capabilities and offerings across the Channel Islands.
Mark has joined EY after spending more than 16 years at the Guernsey Financial Services Commission, 4 of which he spent as Deputy Director for the Investment sector, lately the Investment and Fiduciary sectors. During this time, he was responsible for divisional and policy initiatives, which among his achievements saw him launch the PIF (Private Investment Fund) and MLP (Manager Led Product).
Increased regulatory demands and policy changes has seen the demand for EY’s advisory services rise significantly in recent years. Mark’s role will initially involve providing consultative advice on existing regulatory risk health-check and remediation projects.
During his time at the Commission, Mark developed a keen interest in Fintech and gained hands on experience of Peer-to-Peer lending, crowd funding, cryptocurrency funds and distributed ledger technology. He will be continuing to build upon this and pursue his passion for technology and innovation to support EY’s growing AI and RegTech offerings in the Channel Islands.
Mark said: “I was privileged to have worked at the Commission during times of prosperity in the early two-thousands – with the private equity boom, then the global financial crisis, which was followed by numerous global reviews of Guernsey’s regulatory framework. I am looking forward to sharing my learnings and insights from my time at the Commission with local businesses to help them navigate recent and future changes. In making my decision to join EY, I was impressed with how truly globally connected and collaborative their teams are, and how they are using cutting edge digital innovations to improve their service offerings and clients’ businesses alike.”
Mark will continue to make a significant contribution to the local Financial Services industry through his association and industry roles, in particular his roles with the Tax Compliance Industry Working Group and Guernsey Finance’s Fund Strategy Group.
Mark’s appointment is part of an on-going strategy to grow EY’s Advisory service offerings and capabilities across the Channel Islands.
Mark continued: “I will be spearheading the pursuit of new opportunities to work more closely with existing clients and developing new relationships for the firm to support the growth of the business. EY’s team already has an excellent track-record in delivering quality regulatory advisory projects. I am looking forward to sharing my experience and knowledge to further enhance the exceptional talent here at EY.”
Richard Le Tissier, EY Assurance Partner, said: “We are delighted to welcome Mark to the firm. Mark’s significant experience and expertise are a welcome addition to our growing advisory team in the Channel Islands and his insight and skills from his time with the GFSC will be invaluable to our clients and the firm as we continue to transform the way we work.”
