With days to go, if you’re stuck for something a bit different this Christmas, Genuine Jersey have teamed up with Jersey Oak to offer a personalised hamper service.
The Jersey Oak showroom in St Martin is home to a Winter Wonderland where visitors can choose from a range of homegrown and homemade produce and crafts.
John Garton, CEO of Genuine Jersey, said: “It is fitting that at this special time of year there is a real sense of support and community amongst the Genuine Jersey members at the Jersey Oak showroom.”
“One of the benefits of being a member is that you can lean on those more experienced for business advice and guidance. When your venture becomes a success hopefully you will also look to give back to those just starting out and the Island of Jersey.”
You can create a hamper for the real foodie of the family with products from Jersey Sea Salt and The Little Jersey Biltong Company. Include some home-grown fire to keep your belly warm this winter with Pimata’s range of chilli and curry sauces along with The Chilli Kitchen’s chutneys, jams and pickles which are now available in mini jars to allow you to try even more flavours! Finish off with some sweet treats courtesy of La Cremiere’s decadent Jersey Salted Caramel Sauce and La Mare Vineyard’s award winning black butter.
For something special that will stand the test of time look to one of the many artists homed at Jersey Oak. You can find reflections of the Island and its nature through work by Simon Bossy, Kathy Rondel and Georgie Ng. Jersey Island Sea Glass incorporate the island’s natural resources into their pictures and jewellery, using sea glass and pebbles found on Jersey’s shores. Aida de la Herren also uses beach pottery in her hand-made silver jewellery, which is inspired by sea life and natural designs found hidden in Jersey’s landscapes. For a sentimental touch, head up to view Unique Words personalised prints and poems, available framed or as greeting cards.
Jersey Oak are also selling their own Luxury Genuine Jersey Christmas Crackers. Each cracker contains a handcrafted gift from a Genuine Jersey member, a Jersey based quiz for the family and a Temps Passé image contributed from sponsor member, the Jersey Evening Post.
Simon Bellwood, Director of Jersey Oak, said: “I am a big advocator of buying local and want to support my fellow Genuine Jersey members as much as possible with their ventures. The shop has a wonderful festive feel here and we would love for it to become a permanent home to many of our local artisans.”
