Dementia Jersey is challenging everyone to cycle 100 miles in August.
All money raised will help the charity to continue providing services for the 1,600 islanders living with dementia in Jersey.
Whether you’re an avid cyclist or enjoy a weekend family ride, this is the perfect opportunity to explore Jersey by bike or motivate you to hit the gym bikes or sign up for spinning. This challenge can also be completed on an e-bike too. They all count. The question is, will you be doing it in 31 days or 24 hours?
Claudine Snape, CEO of Dementia Jersey, said: “This is a new challenge in our events calendar. Our 50-mile walking challenge in January was such a great success, that we thought we’d try a cycling theme. Our Summer Cycle Challenge gives people of all levels the motivation to challenge themselves at their own pace. All funds raised will go towards providing a lifeline to people with dementia and their families, and helping make Jersey a more dementia-friendly island.”
Louise Heald, Summer Cycle Challenge participant, comments: “My lovely dad has had dementia for 6 years and is now in a home. Dementia Jersey has helped all of our family during this time and continues to do so. I am really grateful for the support we have access to through the charity and have chosen to do the Summer Cycle Challenge to help give back.”
