Following a record-breaking year for the Saffery Rotary Walk, where more than £100,000 was distributed across 25 charities, organisers are calling for Bailiwick charities and not-for-profit organisations to apply for a share of the funds that will be raised by the 2024 Walk on Saturday 8th June 2024.
Each year, the Walk looks for applications from a broad spectrum of local charities, benefitting members of the wider community across a range of sectors, including social care, sport, healthcare, arts, leisure and more. Organisers are now looking for the next cohort of Bailiwick charities to support.
Walk Chairman, Simon Milsted, said: “The overall goal for the Saffery Rotary Walk is to help organisations based in the Bailiwick to fund specific and clearly identifiable items or projects of any size.
“The Walk is such an integral event for our island. Not only are charities and not-for-profit organisations provided with the opportunity to receive much needed funding, but our walkers are presented with a chance to support a variety of local causes whilst tackling the personal challenge of the 39-mile route.
“We look forward to welcoming back walkers from previous years and to seeing some new faces in 2024. We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support and dedication demonstrated by our walkers, and from our longstanding main sponsors, Saffery Trust.”
Saffery Trust Director, Lisa Vizia said: “The charities and not-for-profit organisations that we support each year play such an integral role within our community. The work they do is truly fantastic.
“We are excited to start the process of finding new applicants for next year’s Walk, and we would love to hear from any local charities or not-for-profit organisations working in our community, seeking support towards a specific item or project.”
The application needs to set out the items or projects which must have a measurable defined outcome in line with the objectives of the charity or NPO. For example: funding for a campaign, new equipment, or facility improvements. Please remember general administration costs or overheads will not be considered.
The deadline for applications is Thursday 30 November. The application form can be filled out and submitted online, hard copies can also be downloaded for completion, or collected from Saffery Trust’s office at La Tonnelle House, Les Banques, St Sampsons, and posted in. Online submission or emailed copies of the completed application are preferred.
