Fort has celebrated the careers of two esteemed members of the team, Patricia ‘Paddy’ Whitford and Peter Moffatt, who have a combined 61 years of service at the company.
Both have played a crucial role in the organisation, serving on the board and supporting the company through a recent period of growth.
Paddy moved to Guernsey after a childhood in Zambia and Australia. She has 48 years of experience in the Guernsey finance industry. Her career began with the establishment of chartered accountants Horlock & Co. in 1976, which became the Charter Group in 1985 before merging with Fort in 2012.
As a director and shareholder, Paddy managed several private investment and property entities at an exciting time when the finance industry was developing in Guernsey.
Paddy became a board director and shareholder, working as a trustee and serving as director of underlying group companies, administering a diverse portfolio of high-value structures.
Paddy said: “I have seen many changes over my working life, and seen Guernsey grow to the respected position it holds today. I am confident that Fort, like Guernsey, will continue to go from strength to strength as its impact on the industry continues to widen.”
Before joining Fort, Peter spent 32 years in the London finance industry. He worked across multiple sectors including international finance, bank supervision, financial regulation and compliance.
Peter joined the board of Fort as a non-executive director in 2011 after 11 years as Director of Investment Regulation at the GFSC. In 2013 he was appointed as a non-executive chairman and oversaw an intensive growth period at Fort through the acquisition and integration of three other companies.
Peter said: “I’ve had a fantastic time working with the people at Fort throughout the years. It’s been excellent to be on the board and oversee such a productive period of growth. Fort remains well placed to continue its growth into the future and I look forward to seeing the company continue to progress.”
Jos Ensink, Executive Chairman at Fort, said: “We are deeply grateful for Patricia Whitford’s dedication, hard work and her incredible journey in the administration industry. Her kindness and guidance, especially when I began my career in Guernsey, have been invaluable.
“As a client director, her enormous care for our clients set a standard of excellence that will continue to inspire us. We wish her a joyful and fulfilling retirement.
“We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Peter Moffatt for his pivotal role in Fort’s growth. He has a remarkable wealth of expertise in risks, compliance and regulations. His guidance through acquisitions, growth and integration stages has been instrumental in shaping our success. We wish him the best for a wonderful retirement.
“We appreciate the care and guidance Peter and Patricia have taken in their roles to guide us to the next level. Their loyalty exemplifies the great culture that we have at Fort.”
