Flybe will wave goodbye to purple and hello to red as it becomes Virgin Connect next year.
The airline, which connects Jersey and Guernsey with the UK, was last rebranded 17 years ago. The latest name change comes after the European Commission approved Flybe’s sale to the newly-formed Connect Airways, which includes Virgin, Stobart Group, Cyrus Capital.
‘At its heart, Virgin Connect will be passionately focused on becoming Europe’s most loved and successful regional airline. It will offer travel that is simple and convenient with the personal touch,’ said Connect Airways chief executive Mark Anderson.
‘Our customers will naturally expect the same exceptional travel experience as they do with other Virgin-related brands. Whatever their reason for flying, we want our customers to feel loved and know we will always put their needs first in every decision we take.’
Launched in 1979 as Jersey European Airways, the airline was renamed British European in 2000, before switching to Flybe in 2002 in an effort to position itself as a low-cost airline.
