Carey Olsen Guernsey has announced that Sophia Brown, Amber Healing, Cara Fitzpatrick and Sophie Montgomery have this month joined the firm’s two-year training programme to qualify as solicitors of England and Wales.
Tom Andrews, who was previously working as a paralegal within Carey Olsen’s corporate team, also begins his SQE course this September in the firm’s London office and will work exclusively on corporate matters.
In partnership with legal educational provider BARBRI, Carey Olsen will provide a rotational training programme in which each trainee will have the opportunity to work within the firm’s corporate, dispute resolution and litigation, and trusts and private wealth departments over the course of the two years. Trainees will receive one-to-one mentoring from an experienced lawyer within each department as they rotate, in addition to attending regular training seminars on current legal work within these practice areas.
As part of the sponsorship, Carey Olsen will cover the costs of the SQE course and exam, travel and accommodation, and provide generous study leave allocation.
Carey Olsen Guernsey managing partner, Tom Carey, said: “We are delighted to have five aspiring lawyers begin their training programme with us this September. As a leading offshore law firm and the largest firm in Guernsey, a legal training contract with Carey Olsen will provide trainees with a real breadth of experience and access to valuable advice and support from our talented legal teams. We wish each individual the best of luck throughout their training and study for exams.”
