Stephen Prout, Head of Operations at Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management (CGWM) Funds has become the first funds professional in Guernsey to complete the Certified Investment Fund Director (CIFD) programme, following a demanding study and assessment process.
Based on extensive input from industry practitioners, the unique CIFD programme addresses investment fund governance, acknowledging the distinctive characteristics of investment funds versus other types of financial organisation. The programme aims to raise professional standards in investment fund governance internationally, including the role of boards.
Andy Finch, Chief Executive at Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management International said: “Certified Investment Fund Directors are recognised within the investment fund industry as having embraced the highest standards in our profession. This is an outstanding achievement for Stephen and demonstrates our commitment to leading the way in our industry. I congratulate Stephen for his dedication and hard work to become the first funds professional in Guernsey to be certificated through the CIFD programme”.
Kate Walsh, Relationship Manager at the CIFD Institute added “Stephen was an excellent participant on the programme in 2019. All of the CIFD team are delighted to have Stephen join our international alumni community”.
Stephen has worked at CGWM for five years and has 25 years’ onshore and international fund industry experience including operations, internal audit and risk, control and oversight functions.
Now enrolled as a member of the CIFD Institute, he is entitled to use the professional designation of Certified Investment Fund Director.
