The Jersey Development Company has announced it will once again run an Ice-Skating Rink at the Weighbridge.
For the first time, the ice rink will be open from the start of the October half-term holiday extending throughout the festive season to the end of the February half-term in 2025.
The 30m x 30m Ice rink, will be opening daily from Saturday 26 October through to Sunday 23 February 2025. The rink will not open on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year’s Day.
Lee Henry, CEO of the Jersey Development Company (JDC), said: “Last year’s Ice Rink was a tremendous success, attracting 45,000 visits to the Weighbridge over a three-month period. This year, we’ve decided to open earlier to coincide with the October half-term holidays, which will offer an additional indoor amenity for local children and families during the October half-term holidays.
“Whilst last year we operated within a tight timeframe, this year we’ve made improvements, including a new booking app that enables users to book, view, and modify their skating sessions without needing to visit the rink. We’re delighted to have partnered with local bank Butterfield as our main sponsor, with whom we share a strong relationship as tenants at IFC 6. Having an ice rink conveniently located at the Weighbridge will bring a fun, festive activity for friends, families, and the wider community to enjoy this winter.”
Michelle Le Blond, Branch Manager, Butterfield Bank Jersey said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring Jersey on Ice this year and, by working together with JDC, we hope to build on its huge success. As Jersey’s only ice rink and a hugely popular attraction, we recognise the opportunity it offers the whole community for a fun experience with friends, family or colleagues and we are happy to lend our support.”
