EY has welcomed 18 trainee associates to their assurance and tax teams across the Channel Islands, who will embark on their professional qualifications in the financial services industry.

They will shortly begin studying towards either the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS), or the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT)  professional qualification.

Prior to commencing their studies, the associates, who are a mix of A-level students and university graduates, have taken part in an induction week to learn more about the business and how their roles will contribute to EY’s purpose of building a better working world, for its people, clients and communities, locally and globally. They have also taken part in team building activities to instil the importance of building strong, communicative, and collaborative teams.

Fiona Morton, EY’s Head of Talent in the Channel Islands, said; “We are delighted to welcome our new associates to the firm. We pride ourselves on our leading people culture and providing all our people with the foundations to fulfil their career aspirations. Upon completing their qualifications, they will have numerous opportunities to further their careers with EY in the Channel Islands and globally.”

“Our student applications are open all year round and we have opportunities for students to come and get a feel for what working at EY is like through our paid work experience and Summer Internship programmes. It doesn’t matter to us what subjects you are a currently studying; we are more interested in the skills and diverse experiences you can bring to our teams and clients. Our newest associates have studied various subjects, varying from accounting and finance, through to physics, engineering, and geography. If you would like to find out more about what a career at EY could look like for you, get in contact with us today.”
