Ferbrache & Farrell LLP has strengthened its dispute resolution team with the appointment of experienced litigator Robert Breckon.
Advocate Breckon deals with all aspects of local and international commercial litigation, including trust-related disputes, professional negligence related matters, contract and tort-based claims, as well as contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
He has a keen interest in regulatory matters; he regularly advises companies and directors in relation to investigations brought by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission and other regulatory bodies.
Advocate Breckon said: “Ferbrache & Farrell is a progressive, well respected firm and I am relishing the opportunity of contributing to the firm’s already considerable success and growth and assisting its clients.”
With a strong international support network, Advocate Breckon often works with law firms and corporates in foreign jurisdictions particularly in respect of cross-border fraud claims and asset tracing matters.
Martin Jones, head of dispute resolution, said: “Robert has already developed a considerable reputation as an excellent litigator, and we are delighted that he has chosen Ferbrache & Farrell as the firm he wishes to develop his career with. We are very much looking to forward to working with him.”
Advocate Breckon qualified as a solicitor of England and Wales (currently non-practising) in 2005 and has previously practiced in the London and Tokyo offices of an international law firm. Robert moved to Guernsey in 2015, qualifying as a Guernsey Advocate in 2018.
He has several charitable commitments away from the office and is a director of the Youth Commission for Guernsey and Alderney.
