Women in Tech: How to step outside your comfort zone
An online networking event for digital leaders and HR personnel with keynote speakers – livestreamed from CERT.JE.
Digital transformation leader Joanne will share her career journey, including various life challenges, breakthroughs, and re-locations. Joanne regularly challenges herself to step outside her comfort zone and explore new opportunities. We’re all experiencing a period of uncertainty, which will affect our appetite to take risks and push boundaries. Joanne will share techniques and examples to help you pursue your career goals. So, get ready to relate and feel inspired by each other.
Fifteen years ago, Joanne moved from Canada to the UK – with no visa, no job, and no business network. Only knowing one person, she began rebuilding her career, knowing – if she failed – it was a one-way ticket back to Canada. Stepping back to middle-level management, she rebuilt her career in a way that broke multiple ‘glass ceilings’.
- Takeaways from this event will include:
- How to turn challenges into opportunities
- Why failures & setbacks are as important as successes and wins
- The art of sacrifice in balancing life, family and career
- Risk-taking the key ingredient in getting out of your comfort zone
- Face the fear – do it anyway!
- Why imposter syndrome is a ‘possibility on progress.’
