William Newton ‘Fleeting Moments’ exhibition (Jersey)
Renowned sculptor, William Newton, is set to showcase his latest collection of bronze sculptures in Jersey.
The ‘Fleeting Moments’ exhibition marks a significant milestone in his career, as his first one-man show in 25 years. Hosted by Catherine Best, this exhibition celebrates Newton’s exceptional ability to capture the beauty and spirit of living form.
“My work is always deeply personal,” says Newton. “Each sculpture holds profound meaning, as I strive to honour the living form in the most genuine way possible. This exhibition is a reflection of that dedication.”
Newton’s renowned career includes the creation of 13 consecutive Derby trophies, life-size bronzes of iconic figures such as Lord Oaksey, Jack Berry, Lester Piggott, and Dick Francis, as well as sculptures of celebrated racehorses like Kauto Star and Motivator.
Catherine Best, a world-class jewellery designer known for her passion for the natural world, shares a deep respect for Newton’s artistry: “William’s sculptures breathe life into bronze, capturing not just the form but the very essence of his subjects. This exhibition is a true celebration of that connection.”
The exhibition, running from 7th June – 14th June 2025, will feature a selection of Newton’s most recent works, including human and animal sculptures that embody strength, fragility, and movement.
