Wear your best and brightest socks for World Down Syndrome Day
This Friday 21st March, islanders are being urged to wear their brightest non-matching combinations of socks and support the call to improve support for islanders with learning disabilities.
On World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) people around the world will be showing off loud and colourful socks and Les Amis is joining the #LotsofSocks campaign.

This year’s theme for WDSD is Improve our Support Systems, and Les Amis developing a bespoke nursing home for adults with learning disabilities with £728,000 out of the £2.5m needed left to raise.
Paul Routier MBE, Chair of Les Amis Limited and Trustee, said: “We want to use World Down Syndrome Day to start the conversation about Project Trinity and our plans to develop a five-bedroom complex needs facility, demonstrating that we as a community are coming together to improve support systems for people with learning disabilities. The Lots of Socks campaign is a brilliant way to do that, and we are encouraging people to link us to their photos on social media when supporting World Down Syndrome Day.”
