Wanderers Minis festival returns for a day of football, fun and future stars
On Sunday 13th April 2025, JW Park will come alive with the energy of the island’s youngest footballers as the Wanderers Minis Festival returns for a full day of matches, team spirit and community celebration. Hosted by Jersey Wanderers FC, the festival brings together mini teams from Year 0/1 to Year 5, offering a festival-style schedule packed with football across all levels, from first-time players to rising talents.
The day is split into two sessions, with morning fixtures for Years 0/1 to Year 3 and afternoon matches for Years 4 and 5. With friendly games, knockout rounds and Champions League-style finals, there is plenty to enjoy whether you’re watching from the sidelines or cheering on a family member.
This year’s event is proudly sponsored by the Lou Lou Race Foundation, a local charity dedicated to making sport accessible to every young person. The foundation supports athletes at all stages of their journey, from grassroots participation to high-performance pathways, removing the financial, social and logistical barriers that often stand in the way. Whether it is helping a child pull on a kit for the first time or backing a young athlete chasing elite competition, Lou Lou Race Foundation ensures that talent, drive and potential are what matter, not background or bank balance.
“Lou Lou Race Foundation is all about opening doors and building confidence through sport. Supporting events like the Wanderers Minis Festival is just one of the ways we help young people take that first step and keep going,” said Peter Smith, Founder, Lou Lou Race Foundation.
With food, drinks and a buzzing community atmosphere throughout the day, the Wanderers Minis Festival is set to be a brilliant day out. It is a powerful reminder of what sport can do when everyone gets the chance to play.
Spectators are warmly welcome throughout the day, so come along, show your support and help celebrate the future of local football.
