Spring walking festival

Walking through Spring festival

The National Trust for Jersey is staging its annual ‘Walking through Spring Festival’ from 10 – 14 April.

Sponsored by Community Compass, the ‘connecting our communities’ grants scheme is an initiative to provide opportunities for Jersey residents to take part in cultural and physical activities. The festival is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the very best of the Island on foot at a traditionally beautiful time of the year.

The Walking Through Spring Festival offers 30 walks which take in National Trust sites and properties and areas all around the Island, including countryside and coastal trails and walks to more urban areas.

The festival launches with a ‘Wildlife & Wellness’ walk along the coastal path at Pine Walk, St Catherine’s taking in the sunrise over the French coast and ends with a ‘Wildlife & Wellness’ walk in the area of St Ouen’s Bay as the sun sets. In between, walkers can enjoy nature trails, forest therapy walks, wild food foraging, parish, coastal, woodland and wildflower walks as well as town trails and history tours.

Donna Le Marrec. Marketing and Events Manager for The National Trust in Jersey said: “We’re very fortunate to have many wonderful sites in our care and what better way to enjoy them, but on a walking festival? We’re very grateful for Government support via the Connect Me scheme, as without it this activity wouldn’t be possible”.
