The Full Monty — Supporting MUG (Male Uprising Guernsey)
Tickets now on sale for The Full Monty — Supporting MUG (Male Uprising Guernsey).
The 5 Quarters Theatre Company is proud to announce that tickets are now officially on sale for its upcoming production of The Full Monty, with this powerful and entertaining show dedicated to supporting local charity MUG (Male Uprising Guernsey).
Running at The Princess Royal Centre for Performing Arts from Wednesday 24th June to Saturday 27th June, this much-loved stage adaptation of the iconic story promises audiences an unforgettable evening of laughter, honesty, and heart – all while raising vital awareness and funds for men’s mental health within the Bailiwick.
While The Full Monty is widely celebrated for its humour, energy, and famous premise, the story carries a far deeper message. Following a group of unemployed men struggling to cope with job loss, financial hardship, and shifting identities, the play explores themes of vulnerability, pride, friendship, and the difficulty many men face in expressing emotion and asking for help.
It is precisely these themes that make the production such a natural and meaningful partnership with MUG (Male Uprising Guernsey) – a charity committed to improving men’s mental health, breaking down stigma, and creating safe spaces for open conversation and support. Through workshops, events, and outreach, MUG works tirelessly to address the challenges men face in seeking help, encouraging openness and connection in a community where silent struggles can too often go unnoticed.
“At first glance, The Full Monty is a comedy – and it absolutely delivers on laughter. But beneath that, it tells an incredibly important story about men navigating loss, identity, and emotional struggle. Partnering with MUG allows us to take that message beyond the stage and connect it to real, life-changing work happening right here in Guernsey.” – Tom Cheshire, Director
By supporting MUG, this production aims not only to entertain but also to:
- Encourage open conversations about men’s mental health
- Raise awareness of the support available locally
- Help break down stigma surrounding vulnerability and seeking help
- Contribute directly to the charity’s ongoing work through fundraising
A portion of ticket sales will be donated to MUG, alongside additional fundraising initiatives throughout the run, giving audiences the opportunity to contribute to a cause that has a genuine and lasting impact within the community. Audiences attending The Full Monty can expect:
- A bold, hilarious, and high-energy theatrical experience
- A story filled with warmth, honesty, and relatable characters
- Moments of genuine emotion alongside laugh-out-loud comedy
- A production that blends entertainment with meaningful purpose
This is more than just a night at the theatre – it’s an opportunity to come together as a community, enjoy an outstanding performance, and support an organisation making a real difference in people’s lives.
