The end of the Non-Dom Regime- what does it mean?

Grant Thornton invites you to an upcoming breakfast seminar on 16 May 2024 covering the recent UK Spring Budget changes surrounding non-UK domicile changes and how that may affect local Trust structures.

In addition, we will be outlining some of the potential planning points and opportunities these changes present.

The seminar will be hosted and presented by three members of our Channel Islands based tax team of Andy Shaw, Neil Hoolahan and Sergio Gouveia.

Some of the key areas we will cover are:

  • The removal of the remittance basis
  • Changes to Income Tax and Capital Gains Tax treatment for Trust structures
  • Inheritance Tax changes – move from domicile to residence
  • Planning opportunities/potential pitfalls

They will be joined by David Francis and Louisa Beciri of the Grant Thornton UK Tax Dispute Resolution team who will provide an update on current HMRC activity offshore and the trends they are seeing. They will also talk through what we can expect to see going forward following changes to how HMRC operates and how you can assist your clients should they receive a letter from HMRC.
