Teen Machine sewing workshops

Young people can learn how to use a sewing machine and create their own clothing and accessories during a week of Teen Machine workshops at The Harbour Gallery Jersey.

Taking place from Monday 17th to Friday 21st August, the sessions are aimed at children and teenagers aged 10 to 15, with workshops including making shorts, personalised bedroom cushions and upcycling existing clothing.

The programme includes:

  • Monday 17th August, 10am to 12pm: Make a pair of board shorts or high-waisted shorts for ages 10 to 12. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Cost £37, or £70 if the accompanying adult also makes a pair.
  • Tuesday 18th August, 1.30pm to 3.30pm: Create a personalised bedroom cushion for ages 13 to 15. Cost £35.
  • Wednesday 19th August, 10am to 12pm: Repeat of the personalised cushion workshop for ages 12 to 15. Cost £35.
  • Thursday 20th August, 1.30pm to 3.30pm: Repeat of the shorts workshop for ages 10 to 12.
  • Friday 21st August, 10am to 12pm: Recycle Friday for ages 13 to 15, giving participants the chance to customise an existing garment such as jeans, a sweatshirt or T-shirt while learning different sewing-machine techniques. Cost £30.

Machines, fabrics and trimmings are included where applicable.
