Sustainable Finance Awards

Jersey Finance has announced international bestselling author Kate Raworth as keynote speaker for its Sustainable Finance Awards, which take place on 30th April 2026.

Kate – who will provide a video presentation at the event – is an ecological economist and author of the book Doughnut Economics: seven ways to think like a 21st century economist, which has been published in over 20 languages and has been influential with audiences ranging from the UN General Assembly and Pope Francis to David Attenborough and Extinction Rebellion. She is also co-founder of Doughnut Economics Action Lab, and Senior Teaching Fellow at Oxford University’s Environmental Change Institute.

The Sustainable Finance Awards, which are organised by Jersey Finance and are now in their fourth year, will take place at Cineworld and are designed to celebrate local firms and individuals who have made a valuable contribution to supporting the mobilisation of capital towards sustainable outcomes and impact over the course of 2025, across the full spectrum of Jersey’s financial and professional services sector.

This year’s event has been designed not only to recognise achievement but also to inspire ambition and collaboration through a number of expert presentations and discussions.

As well as Kate Raworth, this year’s event will also feature a video presentation from David Craig, Co-chair of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures, which seeks to redirect global financial flows towards nature-positive outcomes. David has over 30 years’ experience in financial markets data, technology, and infrastructure, and is the founder and former CEO of Refinitiv, which was acquired by London Stock Exchange Group in 2021 for $27 billion.

There will also be a panel discussion moderated by Dame Susan Rice, Chair of the Global Ethical Finance Initiative (GEFI) and one of the judges for this year’s Awards, looking at some of the ways Jersey is supporting innovation in the sustainable finance space. Chair of the Financial Services Culture Board, Dame Susan was founding chair of the Chartered Banker Professional Standards Board and has helped develop approaches to social finance in the US and UK, whilst she also chairs Forth Green Freeport, attracting investment for industrial regeneration in Scotland.

In addition, Aurelie Boas will also attend the Awards and provide an overview of some of the inspiring entries received for the new ‘Simon Boas Success Story’ Award, in honour of the late Simon Boas, which aims to recognise a local firm that has delivered a distinct, exceptional and inspirational contribution to sustainable finance in Jersey.

With nominations for the Awards having now closed, Amy Bryant, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Jersey Finance, said: “We are delighted that our event this year will feature insights from Kate and David and that Dame Susan will be returning to Jersey for our fourth Sustainable Finance Awards. As a leading international finance centre, we continue to champion the importance of sustainable finance and its place in the economic ecosystem and look forward to hearing all the speakers’ insights.

“This year, not only are we celebrating all those who are driving positive change in the sustainable finance space in Jersey but also providing a platform to galvanise people and give attendees inspiration as they advance on their journey in helping to deliver sustainable finance solutions.”
