Summer exhibition
This year’s Summer Exhibition is now taking place at the completely refurbished Le Passage ArtGallery & WineBar in Alderney.
It will feature the latest abstract paintings by local artists Nic West and works by owner of the Le Passage Art Gallery Bennt Bengtsson who has brought over a container full of his latest art from his art studio in Weggis, Switzerland.
Nic moved to the island in 2015 to start a new life as an artist. Her abstract paintings are inspired by Alderney’s dramatic coastline, sea, storms and coastal textures. Her artwork has previously been shortlisted for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, London. She also had a solo exhibition at CCA Galleries International in Jersey sharing gallery space with limited edition prints by Damien Hirst and Sir Peter Blake.
Bennt who is Swedish, moved to Switzerland in 2009 where he set up his art studio in the small village of Weggis. A truly inspiring place to create, by Lake Lucerne with a view overlooking the Swiss Alps. For this year’s Summer Exhibition Bennt has transported over 80 of his oils, drawings, photography and prints to his Le Passage Gallery in Alderney.
The exhibition opens on Sunday 28th July from 2pm to 5pm and continues through July and August when the art gallery & wine bar are open.
The gallery was established in 2019 and opened with a Summer Exhibition of local artists the same year and since then the Le Passage Art Gallery has been holding its annual summer exhibitions featuring international artists for the past 5 years.
