Spring HR Training – Confident management conversations
Many providers offer training in ‘having difficult conversations’ but these tend to focus at an extreme. What we tend to find is that some managers have almost no management conversations and others struggle with day-to-day conversations about, perhaps, performance, lateness, complaints, social media activity and many other areas where an early intervention could prevent more difficult remedial action and formal process.
In this half day course, we will consider:
- The ‘day-to-day’ role of the manager
- The importance of quality communication
- What makes for a positive interaction between colleagues
- Which situations do we find more challenging
- The importance of planning, judgement and timing
- Practical conversation skills
- Purpose
- Planning
- Time and Place
- Opening
- Communicating with meaning
- Drawing it together – action focussed conclusions
- Closing
- Scenario based learning
- Escalation when expected results aren’t realised
- Where to go for help
- Open session Q&A
This interactive event presented by Paul Beard our Training Partner, is taking place at Les Cotils. Aim to arrive for 8:15am, help yourself to the breakfast options provided and be seated ready for the training session to start at 8:30am.
