‘Running for Frubbs’ 10 mile race

Running for Frubbs returns for its 8th year on Sunday 7 th December 2025 to raise vital funds for brain injury and cancer support charities

The much loved charity run Running for Frubbs is back for 2025, organised by Harry McAlinden and Paul Burrows of Trail Monkey Jersey and have kindly sponsored the run, ensuring the event and Frank ‘Frubbs’ MacFarlane’s memory continues to live on.

Frank MacFarlane, known to many as ‘Frubbs’ moved to Jersey from Dumbarton and worked in hospitality for many years before experiencing a brain injury. He was a much loved friend with a big personality and a passion for music, often lifting spirits by sharing his favourite Rolling Stones and The Who CDs.

After Frank passed away in July 2017, his close friend Harry McAlinden created the ‘Running for Frubbs’ event in his memory. The run continues today as a celebration of Frank’s life and the positivity he shared, while raising funds and awareness for two Jersey charities supporting people through difficult times.

The race offers runners a scenic 10 mile route from the Waterfront through St Aubin before looping back to Castle Quay.

This year, all proceeds will be shared equally between Headway Jersey and Macmillan Jersey. Everyone taking part helps support two essential local charities.
