Productivity week 2023- Leaders book club launch
We delighted to announce the launch of our Leaders Book Club, in partnership with our friends at the Jersey Library, as part Productivity Week 2023.
Our book club is open to all, with the aim of bringing together like-minded individuals who are passionate about learning and leadership.
Being part of a business book club can have several benefits, including:
- Knowledge and skill development: Business books are often written by experts in their field, and reading them can help leaders gain new knowledge and skills that they can apply to their own businesses.
- Personal growth: Reading and discussing business books with others can help leaders reflect on their own leadership styles, strengths, and weaknesses, and can provide opportunities for personal growth and development.
- Networking: Book clubs provide opportunities to connect with other leaders in the community, expanding professional networks and potential collaborations.
- Time to reflect: In the busy world of business, it can be difficult to find time to step back and reflect on one’s own leadership practices. Book clubs can provide a structured space to do just that, with the added benefit of hearing others’ perspectives and insights.
- Accountability: Being part of a book club can provide a sense of accountability to actually read the book and show up to the meetings, which can help leaders prioritize their own development and growth.
During the session we will share details of the book club, including meeting frequency, book selection, and member expectations. The first meeting will be a discussion between Paul Murphy, CEO of Jersey Business and Ed Jewell, Chief Librarian, Jersey Library on a business book and how it impacted on them and their leadership style. We’ll share the book title and author nearer the time.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet other members, share their thoughts and ideas, and learn about the benefits of being a part of a leadership book club.
