Parkinson’s Guernsey 6th anniversary event with Cure Parkinson’s
Parkinson’s Guernsey is celebrating six years of supporting people affected by Parkinson’s in the Bailiwick with a special anniversary event featuring two senior
representatives from Cure Parkinson’s.
The event will take place on Thursday 8 October 2026 at The Peninsula, and will combine a celebration of Parkinson’s Guernsey’s sixth anniversary with an opportunity for the local community to hear about the latest work being carried out in the search for a cure.
Helen Matthews, CEO of Cure Parkinson’s, and Sophie Priestley, Head of Philanthropy at Cure Parkinson’s, will give a special talk (10:40 to 11.40am) explaining the charity’s focused work to slow, stop or reverse Parkinson’s. They will discuss the challenges involved in trying to cure Parkinson’s, give an overview of Cure Parkinson’s current portfolio of work, and outline the charity’s ambitions for the coming year and beyond. Cure Parkinson’s is the only UK charity solely dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson’s.
The event will also be an opportunity for Parkinson’s Guernsey members, friends, supporters and members of the wider community to come together, catch up and celebrate the charity’s six years of work.
The talk is free to attend and open to all, however booking is essential to help manage numbers.
