New book lecture: The German occupation of Jersey: Agriculture and survival in a time of war
A former teacher and head of history at Victoria College will be having a book published on 15th September by Amberley Publishing. It’s called: “The German occupation of Jersey: Agriculture and survival in a time of war”.
Andrew Gilson grew up in Jersey and subsequently taught on the Island for 38 years.
The book is a result of seven years researching from Germany, Austria, UK, France, Guernsey and Jersey. 5000 documents from 300 files were researched. Including new files discovered by the author from the RJAS and JFU.
The book is on presale on Amazon Books and had been in the top 100 in 3 categories for 6 weeks.
Lectures will be made on 23rd September at the St Helier Town Library and 30th September at the Jersey War Tunnels.
