MND Awareness Day event
The MND Association Jersey is inviting islanders to learn more about Motor Neurone Disease (MND), and the support available locally, during a special awareness event at the Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel on Saturday 20 June 2026.
From 11.00am to 3.00pm, Jersey based volunteers of the charity will be available in the ground floor reception area of the hotel to answer questions, share information about local services and support, and discuss the challenges faced by those living with MND.
The event is being hosted in preparation for National MND Awareness Day on Sunday 21 June 2026 which puts the disease and the charity’s work under the spotlight and includes a number of events around the country.
Don Connolly, Chairman of MND Association Jersey, said: “National MND Awareness Day provides an important opportunity for us to increase understanding of the disease and the impact it has on individuals and families. In Jersey our Association Visitors are currently supporting 11 individuals and their carers and families, with new cases unfortunately being diagnosed throughout each year.
“We encourage members of the public to visit us, meet the committee, learn more about our work, and help us raise awareness of this devastating condition. Awareness events like this enable us to show how the generosity of donations within Jersey are so vital in providing immediate and practical support for those with MND. Funding equipment to enable people to remain comfortably in their own homes simply wouldn’t happen without the funds raised in the Island and we are hugely grateful that we are in a position to be able to act quickly when our support is needed. With MND, every day matters and we are here to help.
“We thank the Radisson Waterfront Hotel for their support in providing us with a central location to host this event on Saturday and for partnering with MND Association Jersey in 2026, as their chosen charity.”
