Katie Piper OBE: Still beautiful
The Jersey Festival of Words is proud to welcome Katie Piper OBE, one of the UK’s most inspirational voices, to this year’s programme with what promises to be a powerful and deeply personal event, Still Beautiful.
Taking place at the Freedom Centre on Saturday 27 September, the event will explore ageing, identity, and resilience in the modern world.
At just 24, Katie’s life changed forever when she survived a devastating acid attack. What followed was a remarkable journey of recovery, transformation, and advocacy that has inspired millions. Now, over a decade after first sharing her story with the world, Katie returns to the stage not just as a survivor, but as a bestselling author, TV presenter, and leading campaigner.
In conversation with Festival Chair Lucy Cotter, Katie will reflect on how the attack reshaped her views on beauty and ageing—and how we can all learn to embrace the passage of time with strength and self-worth.
Audiences can expect an honest, moving and uplifting discussion that challenges societal norms and empowers attendees to reimagine what it means to age well. Katie’s work – including the acclaimed Channel 4 documentary Katie: My Beautiful Face, which drew over 3.5 million viewers and was BAFTA-nominated -has made her a household name. She is also a regular on ITV’s Loose Women and presents for BBC Radio 2.
This event is sponsored by Oakglen Wealth, with tickets to be made available for purchase in the coming weeks. “As a locally owned and managed company, we are proud to sponsor such a meaningful and thought-provoking event during the 10th anniversary of the Jersey Festival of Words,” said Oakglen’s Group Head of Wealth Management Jamie Crawford.
“Katie Piper’s message in Still Beautiful is a powerful testament to courage and authenticity, and we are honoured to support her inspiring work.”
