John Primer returns to Jersey: Album launch show

In September 2024 one of the greatest living blues legends – John Primer, came to Jersey to perform three sold out shows with Jersey born and based blues musician Giles Robson. John Primer was the last lead guitarist for Muddy Waters, a Grammy nominee this year, a Blues Hall of Fame inductee and multiple Blues Music Award Winner. The musical chemistry between the pair was great that they decided to record an album together in the Golden Apple Suite of the Pomme D’or Hotel – in the afternoon before their final Jersey show and recorded by Robson himself.

The result is the smash hit new album Ten Chicago Blues Classics – an intimate album of some of the best known songs of the Chicago Blues Genre, of which John has been a cornerstone.

Made possible by a grant from Jersey Creative Island Partnership and released on 6th December – the album has already received an incredible array of honours and reviews from the Blues World including being named by leading USA blues oracle American Blues Scene as choice of No1 UK Blues Album of 2024 ahead of such stand out names as Elles Bailey and Joanne Shaw Taylor.

We are now incredibly excited to announce that John Primer will be returning to Jersey for one night only this January on Monday 20TH for a show to officially release the album in the perfect intimate setting – the La Petite Pomme Room in the Golden Apple Suite of the Pomme D’Or Hotel.
