Jersey War Tunnels hosts Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning
The team at Jersey War Tunnels is looking forward to welcoming people as they catch up over a coffee and a slice at Café@theTunnels on Friday 30th September and help improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
The café is hosting the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning for Macmillan from 10 am – 11.30 am and will be donating the proceeds from each cuppa directly to Macmillan Jersey. 20% of the cost of a slice of cake or any other goodies bought will also be donated to the charity.
Macmillan Jersey offers free emotional support, practical information and group support to people in Jersey with any type of cancer and at any stage, along with their families and friends.
They also run a wellbeing service which includes complementary therapies, activities, social support, and diet and exercise advice.
All services are provided from The Oasis, their cancer support and wellbeing centre, based at the Lido Medical Centre.
Discussing the event Jersey War Tunnels Chief Operating Officer Joe Carnegie said, “We’re delighted to be taking part in the World’s Biggest Coffee morning this year and hope to see lots of customers enjoying a coffee and a piece of cake and helping to support this great cause.“
The World’s Biggest Coffee morning started in 1991 and has become the largest and longest-standing fundraising event of its kind in the UK. Since it started, Coffee Morning has raised over £290 million for Macmillan.
