Jersey Overseas Aid 2024 volunteering project launch

Join us on Tuesday 7th November to find out more about our 2024 volunteering projects and how you can apply.

For more than 50 years Jersey residents, in collaboration with local charities and communities, have delivered sustainable projects, that improve lives in some of the poorest countries in the world.

Through these volunteering projects, islanders have the opportunity to understand more about International Development and most importantly, about responsible volunteering and the needs of local communities. JOA’s volunteering programme is impactful, is delivered in equal partnership with the local community, and ensures sustainable improvements for poor and marginalised people.

Projects are typically two to three weeks, and made up of around 12 individuals and led by an experienced leader. Conditions can be challenging and there are few creature comforts, but being part of a JOA project team is a highly rewarding experience. For many it is a once-in-a lifetime opportunity, bringing with it a sense of achievement, life-long friendships and special memories as well as the trips being an extraordinary personal development opportunity.

Come along to this event to find out more about the trips we have planned for 2024 and how you can go about applying!
