Jersey Festival of Words
Welcome to Jersey Festival of Words. 2024 will be our ninth year promoting a love of the written and spoken word across our community in a variety of styles and settings, while welcoming internationally-renowned authors to our beautiful island.
We are grateful to main Festival corporate sponsor HIGHVERN, with whom we are enjoying a third year and looking forward to working with once more. As with last year we are also supported by funding from the Government of Jersey.
Alongside our regular venues – Jersey Arts Centre, St Helier Library and Jersey Heritage sites, we will be staging events in the newly-renovated Freedom Centre in Bath Street after a fantastic outing there in 2023.
The main aim of our festival remains unchanged; we wish to celebrate the pleasure and power of words in all its forms, with something to include people of all ages and backgrounds. In addition to literary events, our festival includes performance poetry, drama, film, music and visual arts, always with words at its heart.
