JAYF open garden: Oaklands
Enjoy a delicious cream tea at the magical Oaklands Garden, St Peter on Sunday the 19th May 2024 from 2pm to 5pm.
Cream teas will be served all afternoon £5.50 each
There will be a tombola, a nature trail with bird experts and mugs and bowls for sale crafted by Oaklands’ potters.
Originally farmland, Oaklands is a rambling garden surrounded by beds containing many specimen shrubs and trees. As you walk around you will find Cherries, Exochorda, Azaleas and Rhododendron and further still a beautiful woodland walk with a carpet of bluebells.
Oaklands is a plantsman’s garden with a well recognised arboretum. The trees planted by Jurat Bonn include Acers, Drimys, Michelia, Metasequoia and what is reputed to be Jersey’s largest walnut. An informal and natural feel prevails throughout. A further highlight is the well-stocked kitchen garden which keeps the family self-sufficient in fruit and veg.
Open by kind permission of owners.
We regret no dogs.
