Impact of UK Non-Dom Reforms on Guernsey Resident Trustees & Advisers

During this session, Mark Ropka & Shelley Maguire (Wealthy Complex International) & Tom Gardiner (RIS Offshore) will provide a high-level overview of the recent non-dom reforms from an HMRC’s perspective, outlining the key changes and their relevance to international private wealth structures.

The session will focus in particular on the practical implications for Guernsey-resident trustees, including the issues trustees should be considering when reviewing existing structures, engaging with UK-resident settlors and beneficiaries, and assessing the potential tax consequences arising from the new regime.

Attendees will gain a clearer understanding of the areas most likely to require attention in practice, the questions trustees may need to raise with advisers and clients, and the importance of ensuring that trust administration, record-keeping and decision-making remain aligned with the evolving UK tax landscape.

The session will provide a useful opportunity to hear directly from HMRC on the reforms and what they may mean for Guernsey’s fiduciary sector.
