Hammond Memorial Service
The annual Service of Remembrance will be held at the Hammond Memorial for all those who so tragically lost their lives during the occupation of the Island between 1940-1945.
It is an opportunity to reflect upon the hardship and the suffering of those whose lives were cut short by the cruelties at the hands of the occupying forces. There are constant reminders across the Island of those dark days.
The Service will be held at 4pm on Sunday 12th May at the Hammond Memorial. All faiths on the Island will be represented, along with members of our community and young people from our school.
The Service will be even more poignant this year, given the terrible suffering that is being endured by the people of the Ukraine. By attending this Service we can demonstrate as a community our support for the brave people fighting on behalf of democratic principles enjoyed by all civilized societies.
All are welcome to demonstrate the importance of the event both here and across the world.
