Guernsey Football Club tenth birthday Gala Dinner
Guernsey Football Club (“GFC”) turned ten years old during the pandemic.
Unable to mark the occasion at the time, the Club has announced a celebratory gala dinner to mark the occasion. The end of season awards will be combined into this special ten-year anniversary party, with the promise of plenty of surprises on the night.
The black-tie gala takes place on the evening of Sunday 16 July at the St Pierre Park Hotel, and organisers are encouraging all GFC fans to come along.
Nic Legg, GFC’s Commercial Director, said: “There is so much for us to celebrate! Ten years is a long time and GFC has been through many ups and downs through that time. Fresh from a remarkable turnaround which has seen us secure survival in the league with three games to spare, despite being rock bottom at Christmas, I can think of no better way to celebrate than with this exciting summer gala.”
The gala is being sponsored by Skipton, who have a long-term sponsorship arrangement with GFC. Their Managing Director, Jim Coupe, said: “The beneficial aspects of team sport are well documented, and Skipton is proud to partner with GFC. We are all looking forward to a night of celebration from a community football team that has won the hearts of the island.”
Julia Hands, Chair of GFC is kindly providing the welcome drinks and a specially-brewed GFC beer will be launched on the night.
Tickets are now on sale, which includes a three-course meal, welcome drink, entertainment, and presentation of the end of season awards. They are priced at £600 for a table of ten, with individual tickets also available on mixed tables. Reservations can be made by email.
