Gower Sunrise Walk of Hope
Guernsey Mind’s Sunrise Walk of Hope is returning for 2026, with headline sponsor Gower once again supporting the event that raises awareness around suicide and supports those affected by loss.
The walk will take place on Sunday 21 June 2026 to coincide with the summer solstice – the longest day of the year in terms of hours of sunlight. To make the most of the sunrise, the walk will begin at 4am at Vale Castle. The 6km walk offers a powerful moment for the community to come together in reflection and remembrance.
Participants will follow a gentle route along the island’s east coast, finishing at the Bathing Pools where refreshments will be provided. Open to all ages and abilities, the walk is not a race, but a shared space for individuals, families and friends to walk at their own pace and take time to remember loved ones.
Hannah Hurley at Gower, said: “We are incredibly proud to support the Sunrise Walk of Hope once again. This is a powerful and important event for our community. One that brings people together to reflect, remember and support one another. Raising awareness around suicide and mental health has never been more important, and we’re honoured to stand alongside Guernsey Mind in helping to continue that conversation.”
Amanda Hibbs at Guernsey Mind, added: “The Sunrise Walk of Hope is a deeply meaningful event for so many in our community. Seeing people come together at such an early hour, united in reflection and support, is incredibly powerful. Every step taken helps raise awareness and enables us to continue providing essential support to those affected by suicide.”
