Getting Started with Claude Cowork
A new hands-on webinar aimed at Channel Islands professionals will show how to move beyond AI experimentation and start getting real operational value for your business with Claude Cowork.
Getting Started with Claude Cowork, led by AI educator and consultant Nikki Anderson, takes place on Thursday, 11 June at 13:00 (Zoom) and focuses on one of the most practical but often underused features of the Claude desktop app.
While most users interact with AI through chat, Cowork allows Claude to work directly on files, folders, and applications, completing multi-step tasks in real time. The result is a shift from asking AI what to do to having it actually do the work.
“This is where things start to click for people,” said Nikki Anderson. “Chat is useful, but Cowork is where you begin to see real-time savings, especially on repeatable, document-heavy work. The challenge is knowing where to start. This session is designed to remove that friction.”
The 60-minute session is structured as a practical workshop, with participants working on their own laptops rather than watching demonstrations. Attendees will be guided through setup, learn when to use Cowork versus chat, and run their first real task on their own files during the session.
Designed for professionals who already have a Claude Pro or Max subscription, the session is particularly relevant for those who have explored Cowork but not yet integrated it into their day-to-day work.
Participants will leave with:
- A fully set up Cowork environment on their own laptop
- A completed task run on their own files
- A project workspace configured for recurring work
- A clear understanding of when Cowork is more effective than chat
The session focuses on practical use cases, including document handling, file organisation, data extraction, and first-draft content creation. These are areas where Cowork can deliver immediate efficiency gains.
“If you’re already paying for Claude but not getting much out of Cowork, this is the fastest way to change that,” Nikki Anderson added.
