Gender pay gap reporting

Jersey Electricity has partnered with Inclusive Employers to host an event inviting local businesses to learn the practical skills to address the gender pay gap.

The workshop, which will be held at Grand Jersey on 24 October, will empower professionals to learn how to conduct a gender pay gap report and create a supporting action plan. The practical session will explore the challenges faced with collecting data on an organisation’s gender pay gap, and methodology that can be used to draw out the necessary data to report on and understand the issue.

Positive action plans will be created so attendees can implement these within their own organisations.

Andrew Welsby

Andrew Welsby, People and Culture Director at Jersey Electricity, said: “As a FTSE listed company, it is mandatory to report our gender pay gap, but this was straightforward for us as we had been tracking data for some time. A data-led approach to measuring the impact of your DEI strategy is, I believe, essential.

“By calculating and publicising our gender pay position we have been able to reduce our gender pay gap by more than half over the last four years. We hope that by supporting other businesses with tools and approaches around gender pay, it may help them shine a light on their gender pay position and make more transparent reporting the norm.

“We would like to welcome HR professionals, business partners, consultants – indeed anyone who has an interest in or is supporting an organisation to lead the way in ensuring we act responsibly as employers – to join the workshop with Inclusive Employers.”
