Folk ‘n’ Ale music and beer festival
On Saturday 2nd of August 2025, The Old Hall Bistro Pub will host the second edition of its greatly successful initiative, the “Folk ‘n’ Ale”, a music and beer
festival.
In 2024 the day was received with such a warm appreciation from both locals and visitors, that we decided to replicate it this year with a new set of musicians, many of which live on Sark and regularly attend our Wednesday Jam Sessions.
Folk ‘n’ Ale is a family-run live music event that takes place in the garden of The Old Hall Bar & Bistro in Sark. In addition to our normal selection of beers we will also have a larger choice of ales (Butcombe, Timothy Taylor’s, London Pride, etc.), and this year the food options will be amazing! (we can’t say too much for now, but lovers of roast pork will be happy!)
A varied group of performers will play throughout the day and evening, hoping that this year the weather is kinder than last! Those who have planned to stay the night on Sark are likely to be able to dance into the evening and long into the night!
We would like to thank Sark Shipping for all the support, and all the musicians who are coming, in particular our home band, The Folkwitz, who never get tired to cheer up our Wednesday nights all year long.
Folk ‘n’ Ale will also be a chance for local people to set up small arts and crafts stalls, and for local charities to raise money for good causes. We will also donate
part of the profits to the Sark Emergency Services and to the Sark Branch of the Royal British Legion as we did last year. A big thank you also to our fantastic team and to everyone involved in organizing the event, and we look forward to seeing you all on August 2nd here on Sark for a day of live music, good food, great ales and a lot of fun!
