Festival of Adult Learning
Following the success of the inaugural event in 2024, TGI College is organising a second Festival of Adult Learning which will run from Saturday 5 to Friday 11 April 2025.
Sponsored by Sovereign Guernsey, the event will celebrate all areas of adult education, highlighting the benefits of life-long learning, recognising the achievements of adults who have embraced learning opportunities and demonstrating the positive impact that learning can have on all aspects of someone’s life.
During the event, TGI College will showcase some of the opportunities available, with the aim of engaging with all areas of the local community.
Activities will include demonstrations, free sample classes and taster workshops and displays.
Jane Fears, Business Development Director for TGI College said: “This year we aim to extend the event, building on last year’s success. We have additional locations for activities and a wider range of subjects and interest included. This event is the ideal opportunity to raise the profile of life-long learning and we hope to inspire more adults to try something new.
“Learning doesn’t have to be something you’re afraid of. It can have a truly transformational impact on lives and we are excited to be able to showcase that during this event.”
Sean Gillease, Managing Director of Sovereign Pension Services, added “We are delighted to be able to support this initiative. Sovereign encourages life-long learning as an employer and this is a great way to broaden that into the community. We have been sponsoring the Silver Surfers IT course for some years and this event is a great way to showcase what’s available on the island and perhaps encourage people to have a go at something they’ve never tried before.”
