Pat Robson told Channel Eye: “For the last 2 years I have been hoping to hold the exhibition/event, Every Picture Tells a Story, at last, through Art in the Frame Foundation receiving a Connect me grant, the dream is coming true!

“The grant will enable us to hold the exhibition at the gallery and get schools down to meet tutors and take part in workshops in writing stories.

“The idea is to invite up to 60 local artists to each exhibit one piece of work whether a painting, photo, textile piece, ceramic, wood, metal, 3D etc into the exhibition, Every Picture Tells a Story.

“The artist/maker will be asked to write a 50 word narrative as to what the piece might suggest to them. This will not be seen until the last 7 days of the exhibition, when story entries for the public have been received. School children will be invited to the gallery to view the exhibition and take part in writing workshops. As a result of the visit they will be invited to write a story about one of the pieces of work. Each child will be given a sketch book to work in whilst at the gallery.”

The event will be opened by Deputy Lyndon Farnham, Jersey’s Chief Minister on Thursday 9th October at 6.45pm.
