Dementia Jersey’s Big Brain Challenge: A fun-filled family day out
Dementia Jersey is thrilled to announce the return of their Big Brain Challenge – a unique, free, family-friendly scavenger hunt in St Helier with a fabulous prize, perfect for half term.
The challenge runs from 19th May to 13th June 2025.
The Big Brain Challenge invites islanders to take part in a puzzle-packed trail that begins at Santander Work Café and winds its way around town. To take part, scan the big brain themed QR codes in numerical order to reveal the clue to the next location and a letter to make a mystery word at the end of the challenge.
Not only will participants gain valuable knowledge and have some fun, but they’ll also have the chance to win an e-bike worth up to £2,000, generously donated by Lakeys.
The Big Brain Challenge is part of the charity’s Boost Your Brain Campaign, which aims to raise awareness of the simple habits we can all adopt to help reduce our risk of dementia: Love your Heart, Stay Sharp and Keep Connected.
Claudine Snape, CEO Dementia Jersey, said: “We hope our Big Brain Challenge will be a fun way to spread the important message that, for many of us, dementia isn’t an inevitable part of getting old and that 45% of dementia cases can be avoided with simple lifestyle changes like staying active and challenging your brain.
“We’re so grateful to Lakeys for supporting us and donating such a fantastic prize. The challenge is open to everyone and completely free to take part in, so grab your friends, bring the kids and get involved for your chance to win an e-bike!”
Will Glenn, Lakeys, commented: “We’re really proud to support Dementia Jersey and their Big Brain Challenge. Promoting a healthy lifestyle, both physically and mentally, is something that resonates with us at Lakey’s, and this challenge brings those values to life in a fun and inclusive way. Donating an e-bike felt like the perfect fit, and we hope it encourages more people to get involved.”
