Dementia Jersey’s Big Brain Challenge: A Fun-Filled Family Day Out
Dementia Jersey is thrilled to invite families across the island to participate in their Big Brain Challenge, an engaging and educational activity perfect for half term.
The challenge runs from Friday 24th May to Sunday 23rd June.
Embark on this island-wide scavenger hunt across 25 locations, starting at Broad Street AKA Memory Lane. To take part, scan the codes in numerical order to unlock a brain health fact and a clue leading to the next location. Not only will participants gain valuable knowledge and have some fun, but they’ll also have the chance to win an iPad, generously donated by JT.
The Big Brain Challenge is part of the charity’s new Boost Your Brain Campaign which aims to raise awareness of the simple habits we can all adopt to help reduce our risk of dementia: Love your heart, Stay Sharp and Keep Connected. In fact 40% of cases can be prevented with lifestyle factors we have the power to change.
Claudine Snape, CEO Dementia Jersey, said: “The Big Brain Challenge is a fantastic way for families to head outdoors and spend quality time together during half term. Not only will families enjoy a fun day out, but they’ll also learn about brain health and the steps they can take to reduce the risk of dementia. Big thanks to JT for their sponsorship and we encourage everyone to get involved for a chance to win an ipad.”
Pip Carpenter, Head of Commercial and Community Partnerships JT, said: “We’re thrilled to support Dementia Jersey’s exciting Brain Challenge. This fun scavenger hunt around the island is a brilliant way to keep our brains active and healthy. Engaging in activities that require brain power, like solving puzzles and riddles, can help maintain cognitive function. As participants search for clues, they’ll also discover tips on brain health, not only having fun but also taking steps to reduce the risk of dementia. It’s a perfect blend of adventure, education, and meaningful family time, and we’re delighted to support it.”
