Create a colourful Huichol-inspired yarn painting
The Harbour Gallery Jersey is hosting a brand-new creative workshop offering the chance to transform a simple sketchbook into a vibrant, one-off work of art.
Taking place on Sunday 11 October from 10am to 4pm, the Huichol-inspired yarn painting workshop will explore the intricate patterns, vivid colours and symbolism of Wixárika, or Huichol, yarn painting.
Participants will be given an A4 hardback sketchbook and will create a unique cover, not with paint, but by carefully laying, shaping and colour mixing threads.
The workshop will explore colour, line, pattern and personal symbolism, with participants developing their own individual motif.
No previous art experience is needed, and the techniques learned can also be used at home to create unique handmade gifts.
Numbers are limited, so advance booking is recommended.
