Coronation celebration and concert screening

The Coronation of King Charles III takes place on 6th May 2023. There will be a host of local events to mark the occasion across the long weekend.

Culture and Heritage are staging two events during the Coronation weekend at the KGV Playing Fields, with opportunities for the whole family to get involved in the celebrations. Both events are free to attend.

On Sunday 7th May, 6pm – 10pm the celebrations will continue with a screening of the Coronation Concert.

Islanders are invited to come and enjoy the music, which will be broadcast from Windsor Castle. A number of acts have already been announced and big names will perform alongside the ‘Coronation Choir’, made up of amateur choirs including the NHS, refugee choirs, deaf-signing singers and LGBT singing groups. Food and refreshments will be served from 6pm.

Parking and transport

There will be no parking at the KGV with the exception of extended blue badge holder places and plenty of bike parking.  There will be a drop off / pick up zone in the car park and you can then park at Home Field or Shiloh Church.

Le Petit Train will be running a free Coronation Park n Ride service from Footes Lane to and from the KGV which will run between 9.45am – 11am and 2pm – 4pm.

Guernsey Buses will be running a normal Saturday service including night buses.  The KGV is on routes 41, 42 and P2.

Please use active travel where you can and walk or come on your bike.
