Cobo Bay Balcony Gigs: Tribute to Abba, supported by City Limits
The first gig of 2024 will see tributes to Tina Turner and Bryan Adams take to the balcony on Thursday 9th May and will be followed by a tribute to Abba supported by City Limits for the Bank Holiday Monday on 27th May.
There is one balcony gig in June on Sunday 23rd when some of Guernsey’s best musicians come together for The Big Band Collective and then the following month, on 14th July, there is a tribute to the Rolling Stones who will be supported by Last of the Light Brigade.
The summer season ends with two gigs in August. The first on Sunday 4th which is a tribute to The Beatles supported by Stoked and the last on Bank Holiday Monday is a tribute to Queen supported by The Vinyls.
“There is something for everyone, no matter what their music tastes. The road will be closed every afternoon to allow people to listen to the music and enjoy drinks in the sunshine and we know that the beach will be packed with families and young people,’ said organiser David Nussbaumer.
“As always, we will be asking everyone to enjoy the balcony gigs responsibly and to put rubbish in the many bins provided and our thanks to Island Waste for working overtime to clean the road once the music has finished. Ravenscroft, Ravenscroft Construction, Pula and Randall’s are arranging some banners and bunting to add to the atmosphere and this will include a banner on the Rockmount which reminds everyone to take their rubbish and leave it behind.”
