Careers and Skills Show
More than 50 exhibitors from a diverse range of sectors will be inspiring potential candidates at the Careers and Skills Show next month, with information about career pathways, training and skills development.
The show is organised by Careers Guernsey and aims to support the career development of individuals within the Island workforce by increasing their awareness of local opportunities.
The show will also be helpful for anyone preparing for a return to work, looking to change career or to retrain and up-skill.
It will be held at Beau Sejour on Wednesday 6th December from 4.30pm – 7.30pm and Thursday 7th December from 9am – 4pm.
Entry is free with no tickets required and is open to everyone.
Students in Year 9 through to post-16 will attend on the Thursday and will be taking part in ‘Have a go’ activities to help inspire them about their futures.
Sarah Stonebridge, Head of Careers Guernsey, said: “Working with employers, business and training providers is critical in supporting the future workforce and the Careers and Skills Show is a great opportunity for our community, no matter what stage they are at in their career, to be inspired. With a rapidly evolving job market, managing your career and adapting and responding are important skills for us all. The show provides up to date information about the exciting career pathways available and what might be possible.”
Organisations who provide advice and support for those seeking work and maintaining work, such as GET (Guernsey Employment Trust) and the new EEOC (Employment and Equal Opportunity Service) will also be available on the Wednesday evening.
Careers Guernsey will have qualified Careers Advisers and staff available in the concourse area for careers advice, careers and work experience information, career planning support and to check which exhibitors link with your interests.
