Book signing: German occupation of Jersey: Agriculture and survival in war

A former teacher and head of history at Victoria College will be signing his book: ‘The German occupation of Jersey: Agriculture and survival in a time of war’ on 13th and 20th December, between 10am and 3pm, at St Peter’s Garden Centre. German Occupation of Jersey book

 

Author Andrew Gilson (pictured) grew up in Jersey and subsequently taught on the Island for 38 years.

The book is a result of seven years researching from Germany, Austria, UK, France, Guernsey and Jersey. 5000 documents from 300 files were researched. Including new files discovered by the author from the RJAS and JFU.

The book has a 5 Star rating on Amazon Books and was in the top 100 in 3 categories on Amazon Books. It subsequently was sold out by Amazon Books and the Publisher. It received excellent reviews from UK magazines and has been described as one of the top 3 publications ever produced on Jersey Economic History.

St Peter’s Garden Centre has managed to locate a small number of the book to sell and the author will be available to sign and answer questions on the German Occupation of Jersey and Island Agriculture.

The event is free and it will be the last opportunity to purchase a copy of this important book. An ideal Christmas gift. No pre- booking needed
