Association for Project Management: Jersey community gathering
The Channel Islands Association for Project Management (APM) Branch is delighted to announce its first event in Jersey, the Jersey Community Gathering, on Thursday 8 February 2024.
This event is aimed at bringing together project professionals from across the Channel Islands, as well as providing valuable insights into the priorities and initiatives of the APM.
The APM is the chartered body for the project profession, with over 35,000 individual members and 500 corporate partners across the UK and internationally.
The APM’s vision is to create a world in which all projects succeed with project management as a life skill for all.
Since 2018, the APM has been working closely with representatives from the project profession in the Channel Islands to increase its engagement locally. Following these efforts, the APM recently celebrated the launch of the Channel Islands Branch in Guernsey, which aims to support the development and recognition of project management in the region.
The Chair of the APM in the Channel Islands, Ed Mason-Smith is excited about the event: “Following the great success of our Guernsey event earlier in 2023, we know this event will be a great success and we are honoured that the CEO of the APM globally, Adam Boddison, will be present. We are delighted to be the first new APM branch in a decade and we are looking to grow our membership specifically, to help businesses locally to deliver the best in project management and show that project manager is an aspirational career path for all.”
The Jersey Community Gathering is an exciting opportunity for local project professionals to network with their peers, learn more about the new branch, and get involved in the growth of the project profession. The event will feature:
- A keynote speech by the CEO of the APM, who will share the latest developments and initiatives of the APM, as well as the benefits of becoming a member and getting chartered.
- A presentation by the Channel Islands Branch Chair and winner of the 2023 Chartered Project Manager of the Year, who will introduce the branch committee, outline the branch’s objectives and plans, and invite feedback and suggestions from the attendees.
- A Q&A session with the APM representatives and volunteers, who will answer any questions and queries about the APM and the branch.
- A networking session with refreshments, where attendees can mingle with other project professionals, exchange ideas and experiences, and build connections within the project community.
The event is open to anyone who is interested in project management, whether they are seasoned pros or just starting their journey. The event is free to attend, but registration is required.
